Profiles - Lamajo Principal Training Consultants
Having
Graduated with a Degree in Theatre Studies/Drama
and Psychology Joy extended
her skill base with a P.G.C.E. (F.E) in Special Educational Needs and
Drama.
Her career developed through practical experience gained with leading training consultancies delivering a variety of training projects.
Joy is now Senior Training Consultant with ‘Lamajo Education
and Training Consultants’, based in Swansea. Core elements of the
business include Organisational Consultation, Design and Delivery of
Management Skills Training Programmes, including Confidence and Assertiveness,
Conflict Management, Teambuilding, Leadership, Negotiation, and Effective
Communication Strategies. The scope of work offered includes the provision
of in-house Training Workshops, Seminars, and Conferences.
Joy has worked with some of the leading organisations
in the UK, including
BBC Wales, Welsh Development Agency, Various Regional Police Forces (including
South Wales Police, Nottinghamshire Police, Merseyside Police, and Gwent
Police), South Wales Magistrates Courts Committee, The National Assembly
for Wales, The Probation Service, The Prison Service, and Barnardos and
Local Criminal Justice Board (South Wales).
Joy has been active in the area of management and personal skills development training for 15 years, designing and implementing projects for a large number of organisations in both Wales and England. Joy also has wide experience of working in the areas of personal motivation, confidence and assertion, devising and implementing schemes of work, personal tutoring, support, guidance and advice.
Joy has also featured regularly on BBC TV, HTV and Radio Wales in a diverse range of programmes including News, Dance, Performance and Arts reviews, and regularly features on BBC Radio Wales as a guest Equality and Diversity adviser. In January 2006 was featured on BBC1 Wales X-Ray programme, and BBC Radio Wales for a feature on Negotiation strategies.
Joy has been invited as a Guest Speaker at many major conferences and events including the British Association for Women in Policing (BAWP), and the Nottinghamshire Women Police Conference. In 2003 hosted the Wales National Diversity Awards at Brangwyn Hall, Swansea.
Mark
is highly qualified having previously gained a 2.1 degree at University
of Liverpool (Mechanical Engineering), and is currently completing an
MBA at one of the top Business Schools in the UK (Cardiff Business School)
in Lean Supply and Supply Chain Management.
Mark has worked with Lamajo for some 3 ½ years now, and in this time, has successfully trained and ‘co-facilitated’ on a wide and varied number of Management programmes to a large number of organisations.
Mark is an experienced Supply Chain Specialist, and has a particularly strong background in Supplier Negotiation, Tender Analysis, and Contract Management and Implementation, having previously worked in high profile Engineering and Procurement positions for Corus Strip Products UK (formerly British Steel), and Shell UK (Stanlow Refinery – UK).
Strategic positions held with Corus UK include, Manager of a team of Procurement specialists (including buyers, negotiators, and purchasing analysts) within the Centralised purchasing team based in South Wales, UK - with responsibility for all sites across the UK … Responsibility included the negotiation and management of Strategic Contracts for Corus UK (including mainland Europe) in order to optimise sector/contract value.
Key activities included managing and implementing supplier assessment and review strategies for key contracts in order to identify and exploit further business opportunities, i.e. product value in use, supplier rationalization, cash management, simplification/streamlining of acquisition processes to achieve efficiencies and further cost reduction.
Mark has a particular expertise in Lean Supply, and is currently studying at the premier Lean Enterprise Research Centre based in Cardiff.
In addition to his position as Senior Lamajo Consultant for Strategic Supply, and Negotiation, Mark is a key player in other Lamajo Management Skills Programmes, having gained strong leadership, motivational and team working skills through working in a dynamic team-orientated environment. This is particularly evident in our Confidence and Assertiveness, and Leadership programmes.
